At the heart of Surface Generation’s approach is a combination of proprietary production technologies, materials science and precision process control that is rewriting the rules of manufacturing: delivering greater design freedom; thinner, lighter, higher performing products; and lower costs and faster time to market.
Production to Functional Specification (PtFS)
Replaces static tooling with a dynamic, software driven production environment, providing precise, adaptive control throughout the manufacturing process.
Multi-zone heating and cooling, governed by adaptive algorithms, delivers ±1°C temperature accuracy and sub-micron repeatability - opening up new materials and geometries, ultra lightweight and ultra high definition parts, and the ability to optimise production in real time.
The result: faster cycles, tighter process control and up to 50% lower cost per part.
Manufacturing Processes
Across injection, compression, tape-laying and additive manufacturing, PtFS combines consistent quality and energy efficiency with in-mould quality assurance. Tight tolerances and adaptive process control reduce secondary finishing, increasing yields and improving margins.

Facilities
From on site development and proof of concept to short run production, Surface Generation offers a self contained environment - with the agility and confidentiality that commercially sensitive projects demand.
Within it, dedicated development support covers rapid prototyping and tooling, lights-out test cells, metrology including SEM, real time quality assurance with in process defect detection and correction, and Industry 4.0 data analytics.
R&D and production installations process polymers, metals and glasses at temperatures up to 1,000°C, with trials run on site or supported remotely as required.
